Random Word Picker / ClassTools.net

Click to view the Random Word Picker game I created at ClassTool .

Overview
Classtools "Create free educational games, quizzes, activities and diagrams in seconds! Host them on your own blog, website or intranet! No signup, no passwords, no charge!" (Tarr, 2010).

Strength
Great site to create games and other items to upload onto your blog or website. Tools available are great graphics to enable students to master higher order thinking and plan projects.

Weakness
If you do not want advertisements on the final image you need to pay a subscription.

Opportunity
Great motivator and to assist students to maintain interest in a subject. This website and the available tools will help keep the lesson fun.

Threat

If the tools are used excessively the content may be lost.

Compatibility to learning styles
Great to use for visual learners, and for students with disabilities. The fun and interactive nature of some of the tools including the random word picker above will benefit most students as it will keep the lesson more interesting. The random word picker can also be used for questions, so a student is picked and then a question for the student to answer is selected by random.

ClassTools is based on Behavourism.

Meaning to me
This website has some great tools available to enable teachers to make lessons more interactive and fun. There are a lot of graphic organisers on the site which assists students to master higher order thinking. Great website that I will be visiting again in the future.
